what does 1 credit get me?

1 credit = 1 minute of video, rounded up. that's it.

30 seconds 1 credit
4:10 video 5 credits
10:00 video 10 credits
60:00 video 60 credits

why pay-as-you-go.

i built autocaptionr because i wanted a simple captioning tool i could use a few times a month without being locked into a $20–$30 monthly subscription. every other tool i tried either wanted a recurring fee or buried captions inside a full video editor i didn't need.

so the pricing here is the opposite of that. buy credits when you need them. don't when you don't. if your render fails, credits come back. if you stop using the tool for six months, your credits are still there when you come back.

pricing questions.

is there a free trial? +
yes. new accounts get 2 free credits on signup — that's 2 minutes of captioned video. no credit card required to start. once those are used, top-ups start at $9 for 90 more credits, and credits never expire.
do credits ever expire? +
never. buy once, use whenever.
what counts as one credit? +
one minute of video, rounded up. a 30-second clip costs 1 credit. a 4-minute 10-second video costs 5 credits.
what if my render fails? +
credits are refunded automatically. you are only charged when a render succeeds.
can i get a refund on a credit purchase? +
credit purchases are non-refundable. failed renders refund automatically, and credits never expire, so unused credits are not lost.
do you have a subscription? +
no. that is the point.
are there bigger packs available? +
yes — larger top-up packs are shown in the app at checkout. all packs use the same simple rule: 1 credit = 1 minute of video, credits never expire, no subscription.
